What is a martini, anyway? Is it just something clear or semi-clear that you pour into glass shaped like an upside-down triangle? Is it based on vodka? gin? pisco? all of the above? none of the above?
We believe that anything you craft from several fabulous ingredients — including 1/2 ounce of Spiker’s Shrubs — and pour into a festive glass is call for a celebration. And since the Preakness and Belmont Stakes are coming up, we’re celebrating the famous Cowboy Hoof Martini.
The drink was invented by Dick Bradsell, one of the great UK bartenders whose sensibility for creating easy and delicious drinks has had a major impact on cocktails, not just in the UK but in the US as well. The spirit of choice is gin, but vodka will also work.
