August is National Peach Month, and judging by the weight of the branches on our own backyard tree, we can tell this season will be a bumper crop for all the farms in the area.
We couldn’t wait to get our hands on some of the season’s first, so today we began shrubbing a giant batch of Ginger Peach Shrub. We added just a kiss of ginger because the warmth of this aromatic spice enhances the tart and sweet notes of peaches while adding just the right bit of kick to brighten the shrub in your cup or on a plate.
The first bottles will be ready around August 20, so watch for them at Cider Hill Farm, Tendercrop Farm, and other locations.
